The Simon King Wildlife Travel Team

 Simon King  is a world renowned naturalist and wildlife film maker. His earliest professional foray into television was at the age of ten when he acted in a film entitled "The Fox" directed by his father, John.

​

Since then he has gone on to work on countless productions as presenter, producer, director and cameraman. Productions include Big Cat Diary, Springwatch, Autumanwatch and Winterwatch, Countryfile, Blue Planet, Planet Earth and many more.

​

He has won multiple awards for his camerawork and film making, including 3 Emmies, several BAFTAs and he was awarded the OBE for services to conservation and wildlife film making.

​

He started leading wildlife watching holidays and day trips over ten years ago and relishes the opportunity to share his enthusiasm and knowledge with small groups of people who are passionate about the natural world.​ He runs SKWTravel with his partner, Kim.

​

Kim Whittlestone is a criminal barrister by training. She and Simon met when on a trip to Shetland. They became firm friends and, ultimately, life partners. Kim is a passionate naturalist and has a warmth of personality that has helped turn many of our guests into lifelong friends.
